A Brief Guide to Whirlpool Safety

At  DREAM-HYDRO LTD, we think safety should be a nessescity not an optional extra.  That is why we fit all of our systems, with a suction safety release device as standard. Most Whirlpool producers charge an extra forty pounds to fit a safety option.

The option we use is a new innovation, and is far better than any other on the market today.

As the safety suction is a matter of pennies more than the standard suction, we put conscience before cashflow, giving you the peace of mind that if the worst should happen you will be safe.

Let me explain ...... A Whirlpool bath works by circulating water, constantly from the suction to the pump then back out through the jets, this causes a problem if anything blocks the suction.

A child or elderly person gets their hair near the suction, the suction then grabs the hair, pulling the persons head under the water.  A child or elderly person would not have the strength to pull themselves free. (do an internet search this happens all over the world ).

Our suction has a safety release,  which basically means if something blocks the suction, the pump automatically ceases running for a few seconds,  just so you have the time to pull away.

Having previously used different types of this device I can honestly say this is the most impressive system I have seen, and even better from your point of view we are fitting it for you as standard.

Here are a few other safety tips for use of Whirlpool Systems.

  • Never leave small children unattended in a whirlpool bath.
  • Don't operate a whirlpool bath's pump without the suction guard in place.
  • Avoid prolonged immmersion in hot water, as hyperthermia (symptoms include cramping, exhaustion, faintness) can result from prolonged exposure to excessive heat.
  • Aged persons, anyone under medical care and pregnant women should consult with their doctor before using a whirlpool bath.
  • Persons using medications, or under the influence of alcohol, or having a communicable disease, should not use a whirlpool bath.
  • Avoid the use of oily bath products. They contribute to the build-up of bath residue within the circulation system
